NOIR HAS ARRIVED!

February 16, 2012 at 5:31 pm | the dish | No comment

We have to be honest, we stopped carrying bridesmaids for awhile because everything was starting to look the same and we just couldn’t seem to find a designer that we LOVED.  Well lovelies, the wait is over. NOIR by Lazaro is everything we love in a bridesmaid line.  While we’ve all heard a hundred times, “no really, you CAN wear it again,” this is the first time in a long time that we wholeheartedly agree.  Several of our stylists have ordered these gowns to attend special events and even to wear to cocktail parties!  This truly is a wearable, yet fashion forward gown collection.  To celebrate the arrival of this amazing line, we are offering 15% off any NOIR orders placed before May 1st.  Do your bridal party a favor and check out NOIR!

NOIR BY LAZARO

December 31, 2011 at 5:35 pm | the dish | No comment

Just because your not the bride doesn’t mean you can’t work that aisle on the brides special day! The days of dawning ruffles, poor silhouettes and obnoxious colors are OVER! Noir by Lazaro’s 2012 Spring collection embraces drama, sophistication and GLAMOUR. Lace in neutrals like black, nude and blush give you the perfect balance of allure and elegance. Tulle and organza are also key notes to add that mark of a modern bridesmaid. Long silhouettes and cocktail hemlines give you a look for any destination or venue. We adore Lazaro’s ability to blend a classic style with modern trends, so we couldn’t resist bringing in a bridesmaids collection…we know you’ve all been patiently waiting! We are proud to introduce this amazing collection into our store in the next few months!

THE IVY ROOM WEDDING

December 31, 2011 at 4:50 pm | the dish | No comment

Check out this gorgeous Rivini gown as seen on Style Me Pretty! We are in love with this wedding, and of course…the gown!  From the Bride…We started Wednesday night at Piece Pizza for all the out of towners. Thursday, our rehearsal dinner was at our favorite neighborhood restaurant, Socca, where the managers know us by name because we sit in the bar for dinner at least once a week (if not more). The rehearsal was just for the wedding party, but after the rehearsal dinner on Thursday, we invited everyone over to Sheffield’s Bar, where Ryan receives a “regulars’ discount.” We really wanted the wedding to be about showing our friends and family what we love about Chicago and having them feel included. The most important thing for us at the wedding was that all of our family and friends have an amazing time.

TRIPLE THREAT TRUNK SHOW

December 11, 2011 at 11:07 pm | the dish | No comment

It was a weekend to put in Blue’s history books. It marked the introduction of a new designer to the wedding scene, Hayley Paige, and the arrival of Brides Head Revisited and Tara Keely’s latest 2012 designs.  It was a bit of a VIB (Very Important Bride) party, where Denver brides got a sneak peak at the collections and the exclusive chance to be one of the first brides to strut their stuff down there own red carpet runway on their special day.

Proud to be one of Denver’s only bridal store to carry Paige’s designs,  not only did she personally sit in during consultations, but was gracious enough to lend us her entire  new collection. Yes, straight off the runway! This is what the young innovator had to say about our amazing weekend.

“Blue is the boutique for your something marvelous! Our first trunk show together was not only a celebration of the fun and fabulous bride, but also an indulgence of Denver’s wonderful ambiances. My gowns and I are very excited to have a home there.”

Also fresh off the NY models were the 2012 gowns from Tara Keely by Lazaro. Carrie Edwards, our favorite and amazingly talented JLM stylist, helped brides see Lazaro’s vision first hand as she took the bride through all aspects of design, fabric and  during their styling sessions. As one of our most popular designers, Lazaro’s use of glamorous vintage details and floral touches on romantic silhouettes wowed us yet again. He also included one of 2012s hottest trends in this collection, COLOR!

“I was very inspired to bring color back into bridal this year,” Lazaro says. “I included soft shades of Sherbert, Blush and Antique in fabrics like silk satin, silk organza and tulle.”

Also aligning with the vintage trend holding strong through 2012, BHR brings their own variation.  Founders Alex and Emily aren’t new to this recently popular design inspiration, BHR’s foundation sits on their shared love of history.

“Emily and I met while working at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art , and for the six years we were there, we were surrounded by the most amazing examples of fashion through the ages.”

The sneak peak of the collection was shown to brides by the accessory aficionado herself, Alex Augustine. She adorned the brides trying on their new gowns with combs strewn with Swarovski crystals and pearls,  feathered headbands and polka dotted french veils.  Not to mention ,the ladies from BHR created some adorable one of a kind black flowers for all of us to wear during the show!  Thanks Emily and Alex!!!

As if the brides weren’t gorgeous enough, we elevated the already elegant ambiance through amazing floral arrangements done by Denver’s own Pink Posey Designs.  They even provided the brides with unique rose bouquets touched with heart shaped gems to complete their wedding day look. Picture perfect!

And speaking of pictures we couldn’t have better remembered the day without the pictures captured by Dawn Sparks. Why wouldn’t we pick one of Denver’s A-list wedding photographers! Here’s some great moments she captured.

MEET THE DESIGNER: HAYLEY PAIGE

November 16, 2011 at 8:36 pm | the dish | No comment

One of our favorite things about going to market is finding great new designers, and being able to bring their amazing designs to the Denver market.  This season we will be bringing a delightful new addition with Hayley Paige.  A new addition to the JLM Couture family, Hayley was previously an associate designer at Priscilla of Boston for Melissa Sweet and Reverie, as well as the Melissa Sweet bridesmaids and social occasion collections.

As far as her design approach for the first season, according to Hayley “My silhouettes emphasize each bride’s unique style using a synthesis of chiffon with velvet, re-embroidered lace with Swiss dot, or super sheer organza with metallic paisley. This collection is an opportunity to romance the sweeter side of femininity, from the quirky and charming to the fun and fabulous.” Hayley Paige gowns are anticipated to retail between $2,500 and $4,000.

Joseph L. Murphy, JLM Couture president and CEO, says he is very pleased that JLM has attracted the services of “one of the brightest young bridal design talents in the bridal market.” He believes Ms. Paige’s design aesthetic represents a niche of styling that is unique to the portfolio of design talent within JLM.

Speaking of her new role at JLM, Ms. Paige said: “I could not be more proud to be cast among such a brilliant and welcoming group of designers. The creativity at JLM is contagious.”

We could not be more excited to be bringing such an amazingly talented designer to Blue!  Come meet Hayley Paige during our triple trunk show this weekend {November 18th to 20th} and save 10% on your bridal gown and featured accessories!
