SIP & STYLE 2013

It’s that time of year again! Last weekend we hosted our 4th annual Sip & Style soiree, an exclusive event featuring Sara Gabriel’s stunning 2014 collection of veils and accessories! We were overjoyed with the amount of brides and guests that attended, with the highlight of the party being Sara Gabriel herself! Our Blue brides and their guests swooned over mini (gluten-free) cupcakes from Gigi’s cupcakes, delicious appetizers from local restaurant DiFranco’s, and chilled champagne all evening long! Each Bridalista rotated brides through stations of picking veils and accessories with Sara Gabriel, to hair and make-up consultations from Kate & her stylists from Fluff Bar!

Each bride was given a gift bag for attending, each bag included: magazines donated from The Knot, truffles and coupons from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, an adorably fun “Bride & Groom” mad-lib from Pier 9 Design, caramel treats from Pink Posey Design, coupons to Fluff Bar, coupons to Colorado Athletic Club, and coupons for Shannon McQueen Photography. Buffy from Pink Posey Design provided the gorgeous, holiday-inspired floral arrangements that decorated the shop with pops of color and cozy smells.

Our wonderful photographer for the evening, Shannon McQueen, captured not only the energy of the event but also special moments of brides with their guests, as they finalized their looks with the help from Sara Gabriel.  We hope everyone had a fabulous time, congratulations to all of our Blue brides! We look forward to hosting the event again next year!

It’s no surprise that we have one of the largest selection of La Sposa wedding dresses in the country, they’ve been a favorite designer of our brides for years!  We have the 2013 La Sposa collection exclusively in the state of Colorado, which means we are the only store in the state where you can find the newest collection of La Sposa gowns.  The 2014 collection is just as breathtakingly beautiful as in seasons past, if not more so, with their delicate laces and superb fit!  We can’t wait for our brides to see the newest collection from this Barcelonian designer, and luckily they just started arriving this week at Blue Bridal in Denver!  Give us a call today to see these gorgeous styles for yourself!

Now that our summer interns have had a chance to get some experience at Blue Bridal, we thought it would be fun to let our brides get to know them a little bit better!  Here is our in-depth, hard-hitting interview (not really) with our Denver summer interns, Julia & Kelly!  We hope you love them as much as we do!

What initially made you want to go into the Bridal industry?

Julia: I decided to try an internship in bridal because I love the exclusivity of a boutique atmosphere, and the Blue Bridal consultants are always friendly & helpful. I wanted a well-rounded learning experience with as much responsibility as possible in order to boost my confidence in sales and apply concepts I learned in my degree.

Kelly: It all started with Pinterest…my interest in the bridal industry grew from there!

What is your favorite color?

Julia: PINK! And turquoise.

Kelly: Purple.

What do you like to do for fun?

Julia: I love laying out at the pool & going to a good BBQ! I love anything outdoors (true Coloradoan) hiking, camping… and of course shopping when I can! Hanging out with friends and family is one of my favorite priorities!

Kelly: Swimming and running are some of my favorite past-times. I love to swing dance & enjoy anything country! And of course I enjoy a good nap!

Favorite Dress?

Julia: Casablanca 2096 – I love the lace and subtle beading with the fun skirt! It accentuates any bride’s hour glass figure with a little sass at the bottom!

Kelly: Tara Keely 2210 (two-piece dress) I love the lace and ball gown skirt, and the fact that you can take off the skirt so you can rip it up on the dance floor in the little lace dress!

What are you looking forward to the most during your internship at Blue Bridal?

Julia: I am most looking forward to gaining better product knowledge about wedding dresses and bridal accessories, and learning about upcoming trends from designers. I am also anxious to learn more about the buying techniques & functions of a boutique, because someday I might pursue my own entrepreneurial ventures! Overall, I’m really excited to establish relationships with brides and helping them find the perfect dress!

Kelly: The whole experience! Everything involved, but especially being a part of a bride’s most important decision (after choosing their husband, of course!)

landlocked bride® | midwest + mountain west wedding inspiration

Bright pops of color (just wait until you see the bridal party shoes) a little bit of vintage flair, a day starting at a magnificent cathedral and ending at a cozy art gallery – this wedding has a perfect combination of traditional and modern. One element that I love is that the bride chose a shorter veil. Typically in a ceremony venue as extravagant as the one they were married in, you see brides with long, cathedral or chapel length veils, and I love how this bride took the less traditional route and topped it off with a big chunky pearl necklace. Breathtaking. I also love that the dogs are captured during the getting ready shots, and especially that the whole family was involved in such a special aspect of the day before the bride walked down the aisle.
